Meet Daltson Atwell

Daltson Atwell’s story isn’t one of shortcuts or political connections. It’s a story of grit, responsibility, and building something real when nothing is guaranteed.

When the Great Recession hit, Daltson’s family felt it the way millions of working families did. They lost their home. His stepfather lost his job. And like so many Americans, Daltson learned early that security isn’t something you’re given — it’s something you fight for.

After high school, he took every dollar he had and invested it in a single trailer to start what would become Stone Yard Landscape Center in Birch Run. In those early years, it was just him — working from dawn to dusk, doing whatever it took to build something honest and lasting. What followed wasn’t overnight success. It was more than a decade of long days, hard lessons, and steady growth — learning every part of what it means to serve customers, create jobs, and build a business the right way.

Today, Stone Yard Landscape Center is more than a company. It’s a place that supports families, strengthens the local economy, and reflects Daltson’s belief that real success means giving back to the community that made it possible.

Running a small business has shown Daltson what families and employers across Mid-Michigan face every day — rising costs, burdensome regulations, and a government that too often feels far removed from real life. He’s lived the impact of those decisions, not read about them in a policy memo.

That’s why he’s running for State Senate.

Beyond business, Daltson is a man who believes in responsibility, discipline, and service. He holds a CDL-A commercial driver’s license, understands the value of hard work firsthand, and is currently pursuing his pilot’s license, including training for a helicopter endorsement — not for show, but because he believes in pushing himself, mastering skills, and staying prepared.

He’s an avid fisherman, a responsible gun owner, and a proud patriot who believes this country is worth fighting for — not just in words, but in how we live, work, and raise our families.

Most importantly, Daltson is the proud father of a young son, Daltson Jr. Like every parent, he wants to build a future where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and communities remain strong for the next generation.

He’s not running to be a career politician.

He’s running to bring real-world experience, conservative principles, and working-class common sense to Lansing — and to make sure the next generation has more opportunity than the last.
